Monday Mom came and we went to the American Girl Boutique and ate at the Bistro. It was so fun and such a perfectly girly thing to do with Nana! We are lucky to have a Boutique and Bistro in Dallas. There is only one other Boutique and Bistro and it is in Atlanta. There are three American Girl Place stores (Chicago, LA and NY). Anyway, since we will likely never make it to the other stores we are glad to have the chance to visit the Dallas one!! It is very exciting to see all the neat dolls and you have to practice quite a bit of restraint to keep from buying each doll your daughters look at lovingly!! I personally love all the American Girl books, etc. They are all so wholesome and even historical. Eating at the Bistro was great. We had a table by the window and the food was delicious!! (*Has anyone been to an AG Place store? If so, how does it differ from the Boutique and Bistro?)
Afterwards, the girls went home to East Texas to spend the week with Papa and Nana. Blaire has been cooking for Papa and Nana from her new American Girl recipe book. I am sure she will want to repeat the recipes for us...apple butter and some kind of puff bread that sounds yummy. I will meet Mom tomorrow to pick them up and bring them home. I can tell from talking to them on the phone that they've had a wonderful time and have enjoyed the country air and freedom!
Brooke has her last summer league volleyball game tomorrow evening and Blaire starts soccer practice for the fall season on Saturday morning. So, we are slowly easing back into the school year. School starts Monday, the 25th. Why is it that, no matter how long summer is, it is NEVER long enough!!!??
Here are some pictures from Monday:
