Last Year - June 25 and 26

June 25 - They spent the morning at Mill on the Brue, which was a "farm-like" place, according to Brooke, where they got to partake in various exhilarating outdoor pursuits. She said it is hard to describe, "You just had to be there!" :) They then went to the beautiful city of Bath. Bath is home to Britain's only natural hot spring, with waters flowing at a constant temperature of 115 degrees Fahrenheit. At the Royal Baths they saw Roman architecture remaining from the 1st century settlement.

June 26 - Today they went to the university city of Oxford and then explored Christ Church College, a location that was used in the movie "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." They tried the art of punting - propelling a flat bottom boat with a pole along the River Cherwell. Part of the area they drifted through was Christ Church meadows, where Lewis Carroll wrote Alice through the Looking Glass. That evening they had the most amazing unique experience of staying in a tented medieval village in the grounds of Warwick Castle. Unfortunately, this was one of their coldest nights and Brooke said she felt that she would freeze to death that night - sleeping outdoors in a tent in the cold with only a sleeping bag on a cot!
