I thought I'd better put a bragging alert on this post! But, remember that we have great-grandparents, grandparents and other relatives who faithfully watch this blog so really, they love this kind of thing! :) It's a great way for them to see what's going on in their great-grandaughters'/grandaughters'/nieces/cousins/etc... lives!
A couple of weeks ago we got an e-mail from one of Brooke's teachers that said she would be receiving an award on May 27 but not to tell her because it is supposed to be secret. They just wanted to let us know incase we wanted to come to the assembly. Well, of course we wanted to be there! It was so cute because when she saw us there she was wondering how in the world we knew there was an assembly because she didn't find out until she got to school that morning! We saw her say to one of her friends, "My PARENTS are here!" :) They gave out awards for each department (Most Improved Student and Most Outstanding Student) and Brooke ended up getting the award for Most Outstanding Student in the Science Department. At the end of the assembly they also gave out awards for the 21 students who were on the all A honor roll the entire year and she got that award too. Tomorrow those 21 students get to go on a 2 hour lunch to a local restaurant during school hours so that will be like a little reward for them. I'm posting a video of Brooke getting the Science award and also a video of the pre-awards ceremony entertainment. The middle school has a Jazz Band and they were really good! The audio on the camera isn't that great so it really doesn't do it justice. These students were only beginners and we were very impressed with the 3 songs they played!

Awwww...that made me teary-eyed!! Neat to see Brooke receiving her award via video - it's the next best thing to seeing it in real-time!! We are very proud of her!!!

I do love this blogging at a time like this. Loved seeing Brooke actually getting her well deserved award. Brooke is an outstanding girl in every way. So Congratulations Brooke on all your hard work. Sounds like a great beginning band too. I wonder if the bald man in the video knows how bright his bald spot shows in pictures.
